Dammit there's something strange amiss when I try and make a posting. Anyway as it happens I was just listening to RTE on the Internet yesterday and heard an ad for "Hi Speed" Internet via ISDN!!! so I fired off an e-mail to Eircom to find out abou their plans for domestic DSL service roll out and the following is the quite optomistic reply I got back "Hi Thank you for your recent email . Our aim is to offer the best DSL enabled service we can, to as many customers as possible, from Autumn this year. Details of our ADSL product offering are still under discussion with the other service providers and the Telecommunications Regulator. However, as soon as we are in a position to provide customers with more specific details of our ADSL offering and our plans for launch, we will do so. If you would like us to note your interest in the rollout of ADSL from eircom, please e-mail your details to the following address adslmarketing@eircom.net . Please include the following * Name, Address, contact number (include the area code). * Which number you would be interested in upgrading to ADSL (it can be the same as your contact number) * Whether you are a residential or business customer. * If you are a business customer please tell us the type of business you are in, the number of PC's you have and whether or not they are networked. * Should you be eligible for ADSL service from eircom, we will revert back to you later in the summer with details. Dolores Morley Customer Service" So I'd say, on the whole, that's a pretty upbeat reply - No whether they'll be able to offer it in "The Westh" or not is another thing.......
