Surely the market could accomodate both.
Those who want a low cost basic package of the main UK channels (and arent interested in all this overhyped digitasl nonsense) can continue with the deflector.

Those who want the "bells and whistles" along with a proper (512K/s and not the 128 K proposed by Chorus) Internet service and dont mind the fact that it will only work properly on one TV (and doesnt work properly with videos) will go for cable

In any case the deflectors will probably be unable to continue when (if?) Digital terrestrial comes in.

Personally If I did get cable it would be for the internet rather than the TV (Assuming they offered a proper 512K service). Even If i did go for It Id keep my aerial since
1) I video most of my TV and watch it later
2) I need a second TV because other people in the house prefer brain dead soaps and game shows to documenteries and satire
