Because to thank the USA would be to thank all imigrants, especially the Irish, who have benefited from this great country of people like the Irish, who, by the grace of God, were taken in, as it were, and did great things themselves in the U.S. If you know your history, you realize this country is the greatest experiment in the history of mankind.
