Although I gave up smoking four years ago, I still do not believe others who choose to smoke should be ostracized or indeed penalized for continuing that bad habit. This is a free country after all, as is Ireland. As to "second hand smoke" and the many assininities connected to smoking, it's a fraud, as proven by the American Medical Associations study and report, as of April, l999.

The entire paranoia started by U.S. Congressmen such as Waxman of California and other 'liberal slobs,' as they didn't like smoking. They so stated a few years back.

The solution is simple when applied to going into a pub where smoking is evident - stay out of the place. Or - the pub have a special (small) area for those non-smokers. Frankly, I enjoy the good odor of a nice pipe or cigar. The sad thing about the entire conversation is that too many people in this world have become "wimps." Oh, the Congressman Waxman I spoke of is an avid believer that it is perfectly all right to kill a baby in the womb. That I can't figure out, as he is a Jew, especially after the Holocaust.
