Well said.

From what I can see the US government is using
the tragedy as 'carte-blanche' to inflict their
will on the world.

"If you're not with us (The USA) then you're with
the terrorists", says the US government. It seems
now that if you are critical of any aspect of US
foreign policy then you are labelled a terrorist
or a fellow traveller.

We don't have to accept this nonsense, especially
given the absymal record of the US government
in matters outside their own jurisdiction.

Can someone explain to me how allowing American
airforce planes to refuel in Ireland, helps to
stop terrorists flying planes into skyscrapers?

Given that it aids the further military build up
in the Middle East, with all the consequences that
has for stability in the region, as far as I can
see it only increases the likelihood of more
acts like these.

This is aside from the fact that many innocent Afgans will
die (and are dying already due to the exacerbation
of an already desperate humanitarian crisis) but I
guess some innocents are more innocent than others.

I heard Bush saying 'we will starve the terrorists'.
How tragically ironic that his actions have only
contributed to the starving of more innocents.

Meanwhile the wheels of capitalism grind on. A few
hundred yards from where over 6000 lie dead and
unrecovered, the NYSE pumps up for the next big
atrocity. "It's what they would have wanted".

The hypocrisy of this so-called 'war on terrorism'
sickens me.
