When asked a while ago for alternatives to the US's plan a few people suggested the UN should intervene in Afghanistan. Since the UN supports the US's actions (or at least says the US has the right to do as they are), does anyone see any other alternatives? I mean, it would be wonderful to negotiate a peaceful settlement but that isn't going to happen. And suggesting US changes its foreign policies is a moot point since they already have said they plan to (hence Arafat's support I assume). What are the choices here? Surely no-one would suggest doing nothing!
Please put some thought into it.....can you think of alternatives to what will ultimately amount to an invasion of Afghanistan?(unless you believe the Northern Alliance will do it all themselves and that the US will settle for that).
