I think the Laws of Thermodynamics apply here . . it used to be part of Inter Cert science . . . a dark body radiates (gives out heat) quicker than a white body . . . the experiment is usually done with a black jar and a white jar, to which hot water is added - it has been found that the water cools significantly quicker in the black jar.

Maybe this is why Negroid people are black skinned - as with Caucasians I'm sure it's only the upper layers of skin that are burnt/dark and that these upper layers act as a protective barrier to the more sensitive layers underneath.

This is probably why many insulators are white or bright in colour.
