This is all true, for the most part. Although Clinton didn't leave the economy so great, as you can obviously tell now (You cannot possibly blame this on the Bush administration, his too little time in office couldn't possibly cause such disaster -- same thing happened to Bush senior when he took office). And Clinton certainly had great policies toward Ireland. I don't know that George W will or not. I am also tired of Bush's rhetoric, but I think that Gore would be hopelessly lost in this kind of world affair too; that speech he gave was to appease the Democratic leadership so that he could get support to run again in 04. Also there are interesting global articles floating around right now about Germany's support. Although Schroeder (I think that is his name -- sorry for apparant ignorance) initially stated during his campaign that he doesn't support preemptive action against Iraq, he really is on board with the US. Germany has absolutely adored the US since the 40's. So the alliance (US, England, Germany) still stands. I think, however, that both the UK and German people will quickly lose faith in the US. For the record, I hate our policy in the Middle East; in fact, I am an anti-zionist. However, I do think the Saddam needs a little taking care of. His record in the past proves his unwillingness to work with other countries of the world. He invaded bordering countries, and he is holding weapons of mass destruction. I don't want theses weapons to hit me. I am innocent. I know that America has the most weapons of mass destruction, but are you afraid that we would use them? Despite the rhetoric, we will not EVER again fire a nuclear weapon. We will, however, wield smart bombs on cities (which is wrong, but so is war -- at least their trying to make it so less civilians die). I hope America changes soon. I hope that we are someday regarded as good in the eyes of the world, but if this never happens, I still live here, and I hope my government protects me.
