Just to clarify a point about Saddam's capability to strike other countries using his weapons of mass destruction. According to the arms inspectors inventory of saddams missile capabilities, the maximum range of the Al-Hussein, scuds and other planned missiles was less than 1250 miles which means that it would be difficult for him to strike much further than Western Turkey or the very south of The Russian Federation at maximum range. Americans can breath a sigh of relief as they won't be getting a taste of poison gas or biological agents from Saddams missiles.
Far more worrying is the suspicion that a senior American scientist who it has been alleged was responsible for the Anthrax attacks is still allowed to travel around the world with the highest American security clearance (i.e. has links to the American Intelligence agencies) and it is also alleged that the same man is responsible for co-ordinating biological and white-supremacist attacks in some of the countries that he has visited in the past. Why has there been very little progress in the Anthrax letter investigation? Who is protecting the culprit and why?
Why has Saddam suddenly become public enemy number 1 with George Bush when:
1) Osama Bin Laden and most of the senior leadership of Al-Queda are still unnaccounted for
2) Most of the people behind the Sept 11th. bombings were Saudi Arabian
3)The American economy and Oil Prices are going haywire.
What is in it for the American Government to oust Saddam?
The answer to the above questions is:
Osama/Taliban can no longer control Afghanistans OIL pipelines, OIL*, MORE OIL for Bush's backers the OIL conglomerates.
*(USA already has unfettered access to Saudi Oil- what's the point in bombing them even though most of the Al-Queda terrorists hail from that country)
