Just listen to any of the talk radio shows (or even bulletin boards like!) this for plenty of examples of the above. The trick is to realise when you are actually doing well or as well as anyone has the right to expect. But people won't generally take up their pen or telephone to ring up a radio station or post on a BB like this just to say - "I am quite content with my lot". Then on the other hand the people who are really not doing well are unlikely to voice their opinion in a forum like this - they won't be able to afford the internet connection for one or the computer and will be too preoccupied with keeping body and soul together to ring Gerry Ryan or Marion Finucane. Talk to anyone who has spent some time on overseas aid programmes with Concern or Trocaire or similar. Then our western concerns and complaints pale into insignificance.
