Well there is a point there and I certianly agree with you about the poor service we have been given by this government thus far.
We must also not fail to remember how we were treated be the rainbow government, we had Kenny as minister of tourism & sport however we are still fighting for a proper public pool/leisure facility. Kenny is too tame and Castlebar people must recognise that if FG had anyone of substance on their benches he would still be an "unknown".
It seems (rightly so) that FF will take a hammering in the next local elections, but who will gain? Proberbly because of his 'every dogfight' tours of Mayo, Kenny will drag FG through Mayo - I wonder about the rest of the county? Also because of the connaught telegraph's love of printing of young FG contributions verbatim, (I think these memos are just faxed in and typesetted with no editing) they already have a reasonable chance in the C/bar urban elections.
We may all have our differences with FF and the self advancement of the Flynnisty, and the best thing for Mayo would be if Bev stepped down/got voted out. However as we know from past experiance a minister in the town generally brings progress, and we last had that progress in the late '80's early '90's.
