The "public order offences" have risen because as I said people walking home minding their business are getting arrested for breach of the peace, serious crime has dropped...I think if you really look at the situation the figures could be reversed, serious crime has risen because the Gardai are to busy arresting people for singing or giving each other piggybacks "pardon the pun".
The stats out there dont reflect whats happening on the street. There may be a case in saying the resources arent there but what I cant understand is why are there always plenty of guards in the wrong places, quiet locations, and not at the hot spots where most of the so called public order offences are taking place? Its easy to say that their doing the best they can with the resources but the fact is their not as Ive been the victim of car vandalism on two occasions in the last 6 months, I was even told by a gardai not to park my car outside my residence as they said it is noted for vandals making their way along that street. If they know about it why dont hey do something about it?
