We are mainly farmers with very large families that we want to keep on the land and in the neighbourhood such that we have a great need to build on our land. Otherwise they would have to move somewhere far away - like the nearest village or Dublin or London. And we do have lots of children because half the houses built outside the big cities were built on our land in the last year. By the way the "for sale" signs - and the "site for sale" signs along very road in the countryside are just so that we can be fair to our children. If you had 10 children you wouldn't like to be unfair to any one of them in case they might get a complex. So they all have to bid for the sites that your kind auctioneering councillor managed to rezone for you by getting a Section 140.
