Well spotted guys.My father was one of the original people that gave the land known as Castle St Car Park to the UDC on condition that it would only ever be used as a car park.
The UDC have now served my family with a CPO and have examined this application with a huge development on the surface car park. Essentially these developers will get this land FREE. It is estimated the site is worth €3 million. If they give the go-ahead the people of Castlebar will no longer be able to park there free. Instead they will have to pay the developers to use a multi-story car park. This is the same developer that knocked the Convent which was a listed building under the cover of darkness. The UDC intend to take no further action for this illegal demolission.
It is worth everyones while to go to Marsh House and see what they intend to do with our cark park. You will be stunned!All monies from this Multi Story will be tax free.
Now is the time to object and harrass our Councillors.
