On the other hand . . . I'd doubt that the McHale road kids got any sedatives or counselling when they were being terrorised on a daily basis by the travellers parked at the end of their road - the people of McHale road had little enough without having what they had being nicked from their back yards whilst they went out to work for the day.

I guess the McHale road people at that time found themselves in a similar situation to the industrial estate members - frustrated with the lack of any action by the authorities - so much so that they had to take matters into their own hands (which is never going to be good).

Remember if you or me setup an illegal encampment tomorrow say outside the Garda Station or the Co Co offices (there's one out the back of the Co Co offices at the mo) or even in the middle of any housing estate in Castlebar, how long do you think it would take before we were 'moved on' ?

NOTE : The travelling community are 'allowed' to break the law !!!

As for 'harsh words', well they might not help in your opinion but they have to be better than bricks through windows !!!

I can't talk for the travellers but I'm guessing that to break the cycle they have to put their caravans beyond verifiable use as I for one am fed up with pandering to their nonsense !
