5-6 miles over the speed limit is 10% ,I was stopped in a 60 limit!
And i'm speaking from experience and yes the garda ran out onto the road and I nearly hit him and along with the cars behind me that nearly hit me.
I didn't get points or a fine as I told the Garda that I was reporting him and got a list of witnesses behind me.As it was really dangerous and stupid. It's a moronic set up.
As Mogli said when people know where the speed traps are,they slow down!
Doesn't that make sence to you? If we had a speed trap at every accident balck spot in the country and everyone slowed down, then these places would no longer be black spots! Make those places known to the motorist, the motorist slows down and the risk is gone? If they dont slow down they are caught fined and given points, guaranteed they wont repaet the offence.
You can say " well they will speed up again after the speed trap"! That maybe true but they have passed the risk area until they come across the next black spot!
Will this eliminate all accidents, No, will it reduce the number of accidents, Yes! Any thoughts anyone?
