No electoral system is perfect but the NI system of STV proportional representation with six seater constituencies gives a more accurate representation of the electorate than either the Westminstetr parliament or (arguably) Leinster House

One feature of the system which some criticise though is where all elected members have to designate themselves as "Unionist" "Nationalist" or "Other" and legislation needs to have the support of at least 50% of both Unionist and Nationalist members
Ostensibly this is supposed to help build cross community concensus but the "Other" members complain that is discriminates against then
