I tried to read as much as I could off the actual treaty proposal..not the simplified one....and I ended just trying to concentrate on the areas I'm concerned about. Under the new proposed Qualified Voting arrangement, it will be necessary for less countries to 'Carry' a proposed change. The fact that 4 or 5 of the largest countries are getting increased voting rights worries me. I'm not against increasing the EU membership...similar to what was done in the past...on a gradual process..one or two counties at a time...but 10 / 12 countries with a combined population of '197 Million'. Let no-one tell me that that will not hurt the EU for a very long time. Just compare that with what has happened Germany since it re-amalgamated with East Germany....they're still in recession and for them this 'Treaty' will allow the rest of Europe to absorb the overflow. Remember...if this traty is ratified..we have NO Control on our borders....even France is restricting the number of citizens from these countries afterwards....while Ireland didn't seek a similar deal...WHY NOT ?
