Actually you've got a flaw in your logic. You see the pot cannot equal the kettle or equal black, however there is a relationship between the pot and kettle. In maths I think you put it as (pot)R(kettle) and from that you can see what the relationship is between the two and that it is black.

Sorry, I was studying for a maths test yesterday. We're doing symmetric and transitive relations which lead into surjective and injective functions etc.
