Many quite prominent politicians in Ireland are part of families which have been involved in politics since the foundation of the state. America of course had/has the Kennedy "clan" although only one of them held the highest office Funny how both Ireland and America like to think that as Republics they have thrown off the old English notions of monarchy and aristocricy only for us to replace it with our own brand of nepotism In Bush's case of course as being a heriditary ruler he is also as good as unelected so was the whole 1776 business for nothing ?
