Im not a big fan of RTE but in all fairness compared to $ky or ITV they are definitely far better for news.

The only channels that can give them a run for their money are Channel 4 and BBC and even here RTE have a couple of strong points such as
1) Far better coverage of nuclear issues (Sellafield, Chernobyl etc)
2) More of an effort made (despite their lack of resources when it comes to foreign news) to be impartial in their coverage of wars

Mind you when it comes to domestic issues they let our politicians away far too lightly (possibly in fear of the next licence fee increace being witheld) but they are hardly alone in this regard
