On my road, they installed 'speed bumps' a few years ago: the boy racers, white van men and women, and assorted idiots, including some mindless twits in heavy trucks, regard them as a challenge, and race along bouncing, finding themselves totally out of control the instant anything happens.
Idiots who disregard speed limits, whether policed or not, should, on conviction, be banned from holding a licence until they can prove that they have the intelligence to handle a vehicle safely and in accordance with the law. Using a vehicle is a privelidge, not a right.
