This was supposed to be a thread about telecommunications after all Across Northern Ireland today people will be voting in the Euro election polls Its pretty certain that for nine tenths of these people the main (and in many cases the ONLY) factor deciding how they vote will be the same one that has dominated every election here for almost a hundred years Ironically its an issue which has absolutly sweet damn all significance when it comes to European politics. Mind you the media are to blame to a certain degree. For eaxample on RTE Radio news this morning they made a passing reference to "three independent candidates" but on the ballot paper I was given there was only one (and even he is running with the support of at least three parties) But unless one is running for a party that insists on taking a position on our five hundred year old pointless argument these details seemingly dont matter !
