I'm not with you on this - how can a massive turnout of over 60% suggest that Irish people have little interest in Europe? And that's with 400,000 people out of the country on holidays.

Slightly different to the Polish turnout of 20%+. I would think Brussels is sighing a sigh of relief on viewing the massive Irish turnout.

I think you have to produce more evidence to suggest that we Irish are totally against Europe. We didn't even have any anti-Europe candidates as in England - certainly none elected. If the groundswell was so strong do you not think some candidates would have gone up on an anti-Europe ticket? So if we vote for candidates that are keen on Europe in our millions surely that's a vote of confidence in Europe?
