Interesting also to read some of the follow up to this post with additional reference to Jaundiced Eye's take on a item on this weeks Mayo News which I tend to agree with, namely that out attitude to many things legal or authoritiarian in this country tend to be a throw back to our colonial past wherby it is (or used to be) ok to bend or break the law or defile the countryside because it's merely a way of getting one back on the Brits who ruled us for 600 years. Unfortunately I think that inherent mentality still exists in our subconscious to this day manifesting itself in out pathetic attitude as a nation towards littering and pollution amongst other things.
