Firstly the NRA could easily have chosen one of many alternative routes that didn't happen to rip through the heart of the tara complex(and surely the pleasure of visiting such a place will be diminished by the roar of traffic in the back-ground, not to mention traffic fumes etc). As an aside the NRA might like to explain why Irelands motorways are the most expensive in Europe - another case of TAx-payers being wasted!!. Secondly the Corrib gas project has been given the go-ahead by Mayo Co. Co. for the second time subject to certain conditions - some of which Shell have had the brass neck to challenge(true to form I suppose since the project would have provided many more long term jobs and been envrinonmentally less destructive if it had been constructed off-shore, but thats another story). As regards progress - its not as if were a third world country or ever where- definatly not now. So a bit of thought and proper planning involving the rigourous investigation of alternatives wouldn't go amiss!!!
