Found this on one of my favourite web sites Weatherunderground with the following caption

I know this isn't pretty, but I am posting this photo as a public service. This is a brown recluse spider that I trapped in my home. I wanted to show it to you all because I think it is very important to know what these spiders look like. Please note the dark feature over the thorax or head area of the spider, it looks like a "fiddle" thus it also goes by the name of "fiddleback spider". I have spent a long time researching these spiders because I knew they exist where I live, I needed to know which spiders to avoid, since these are extremely dangerous spiders. And for some reason this year, they seem to be more abundant. I have never found them in my house before this year. They are identified by the fiddle on their backs, their reclusive habits, their small messy webs that are not used for catching prey, because they are night hunters. They have 3 pairs of eyes, which of course is something that is extremely hard to see, but once dead like this one, can be seen under a magnifying glass. If you have any questions, please feel free to write. Oh, and I realize that spiders aren't true insects but I felt of the available category options it was the best to put this photo in.
