Ink cartridge prices

How on earth can printer cartridge companies justify their high price.

I have just been quoted $50.00 for a twin pack of black cartidge ink!

This rates as more expensive per Cubic centimetre than class a drugs, Caviar, the finest champagne in the world.

How do they justify it?

I thought ink was squirted out of a squid whilst they were trying to escape? I was told that you can refil the cartidges with kits but you have to buy a chip reseter (this tells the computer that the printer has enough ink)which is about £30.00 also.

Are their any ways round this?
