The experts all said you could not run a commercial radio station in Ireland without sending out hour after boring hour of crab noise presented by insipid or inane DJ's who sometimes on a very good day are capable of stringing three intelligible words together. Newstalk 106 is a great success with none of that, just news and discussion, maybe not always high-brow, but a refreshing sometimes irreverant change from the insipid straight - laced RTE or BBC and the terrible crap 98FM churns out. I hope they long continue to be there to make those mistakes (if they really did). At least you are rarely left wondering why any hearse would compete in Leopardstown, or whence come winds from the Sythe, nor do they assume you have an overwhelming need to know to-day's temperature in Tunisia. And our beloved Eamon Dunphy will present their morning show from Monday. Now what more could you want!!!!
