But if you are in fact Irish then - by your own logic - what gives you the right to discuss English Independence from Europe either?

This is a discussion board - we can discuss absolutely anything we wish to discuss within the bounds of decency etc.

Surely the point of the thread was that the headline saying Europe was going to prevent national Olympic teams going to Beijing or wherever is so idiotic as to be laughable? This paper sells thousands of copies right here in Mayo - another reason for being able to comment on it.
