He was in Social and Family Affairs and to be honest that's as high as he could go in my opinion.
But when Enda offered him the Marine portfolio he wasn't a bit happy and refused to accept it, so now he's been dropped from the front bench.

He had a go at Enda for the way he treated the new guy as well - the Independent who joined a couple of weeks ago. From Wexford I think - Twomey is it?
Anyway, Twomey got health and Ring was having a rant about how he has given the party 25 years service and he gets offered marine, but this guy is there for 2 weeks and he gets health.
You can see where he's coming from but if Twomey is good enough then it's fair enough I think. It's not like FG have an abundance of top quality people in the party.
