I'm pretty apolitical and usually avoid these discussions but a comment on this thread.

Ring should have more respect than to snub the Dept of the Marine and the chance to help the livelihoods of those involved in the fishing industry in Ireland, some of whom are his constituents.

He should have more respect than to treat the health of this country as a political football and run home sulking when he didn't get to play with it.

The person with guts here is Kenny who knowingly risks a personal backlash by his decision.
