I guess because those other countries don't constantly expect to be thanked for their actions. russia don't set themselves up as the great all conquering all protecting hero the us seems to think it is, and therefore isn't there to be knocked down. also the fact that chechnya (and bear in mind that i know damn all, shamefully, about the situation there) shares a border with russia, and the two countries have a troubled past (weren't they both part of the same country/confederation until relatively recently) would in itself, i think, suggest that the situation there really bears no comparison with flying halfway round the world to bomb iraq. or have i got it all wrong?
