This is far in excess of the official central bank guidelines (and in any case is based on the flawed assumption that everyone has a spouse/partner) the figures for "income" are not supposed to take shifts or overtime into account either

Any bank/building society that lends money on this basis is probably breaking the law (not that they let trifling details like that stop them)
