Hey, i don't get this.
there was an innocent comment made contrasting life in the uk with life in ireland, not in any derogatory way.
then a reply is posted by henry which (amongst other things) describes ireland as "a backwater dependent on europe."
the tone was neither congratulatory nor complimentary (read it again), it was aggressive and a little patronising, imo.
he's told where to go, and now you're all outraged?
i am really confused, i'm totally with x on this one. just because henry says we're the "salt of the earth" does not make him an untouchable! it's not even a particularly complimentary term for god's sake!
it's a valid point, if henry doesn't like it here (and read the post again, i beg you, it's quite apparent he doesn't) then he has an option to head off. i'm not telling him where to go, it's an option we all have!
i really wish people wouldn't be so damn touchy on this board sometimes, especially on other people's behalf.
it's very hard to argue a debate when the main onus is not to step on anyones toes.
feel free to pour some vitriol my way, i think i can take it.
