My posting on the above drew responses which really surprised me. Not only do I think my posting was mis-interpreted but I think HENRY's also!
Dear Liam,
I question how attentively you read my posting to HENRY! In fact, I am more concerned about the amount of objective attention you gave to HENRY's posting! You start your message by telling HENRY to stay where he is, a place where he doesn't seem to be too happy with. He seems to have a lot of issues with all the things that are wrong with Ireland! I believe he said that Ireland is many years behind the rest of Europe.
In my posting,I said that "I raise my children with a responsible attitude, where they do not expect some-one else to feel responsible for the stupid decisions they might make". If you want to use quotations in your postings, at least have the intelligence to be accurate. You infer that I stated that as long as I'm O.K., screw everyone else. In fact, my philosophy is to do the best you can, achieve as much as your ability allows you to, but do NOT sit back, blame the world for all your misfortunes and expect it to correct it for you. believe me, I have seen needy people, I have helped genuine, needy people, but I do not need your self-absorbing morality to tell me what is right and what is wrong. When you experience it, you will feel totally inadequate preaching it!
I fully realise that life throws many obstacles at everyone, I also believe that we are given the means to cope with them. Unfortunately, many people thake the easier option and make it some-one else's problem.
Furthermore, by inference, HENRY was calling Ireland a banana republic. I just stated it a little clearer for him.
By the way DANNY,yes, HENRY said we were nice people, I think almost everything else was negative, but, I suppose, we should be happy with being considered NICE.
