"I in no way am try to apologise for the wrongdoings of the past (and present) of the Church, but wish to note the huge contribution they have made to Irish society" no indeed you had better not be trying to defend its wrong doins either, now or in the past, any contribution they made in the past is more than wiped out by how they raped and abused our children, how they brutalised girls in laundries, how they preached about morals, whilst doing everything they could to undermine morals, how Bishops live in Palaces with untold wealth, how priests have great big houses, new cars, and are bankrolled for life, i could go on, but wont, if the Roam Catholic Church is critised on here, so be itm its very healthy, for any institution to face critism, the days are gone for ever thank God, when the church was God, and ruled by tyranny, they put invaders to shame by the way they have brutilised our people, my family and many others gave up on it years ago, it holds no sway in Ireland no more
