Well basically if you are fit enough to make it to the surgery you should went to your own GP or the GP that was covering for him/her.

A&E is just that - and the reason people on the ambulances were seen ahead of you was perhaps they were in greater need of care.

I have had to be admitted to A&E after sport injury and was seen promptly.
