The county boundries we use today are not the original country boundries

Ardnaree (the part of Ballina on the far side of the bridge) used to be in Co Sligo and the boundry between Mayo and Roscommon was changed.

Im not sure when (or why) these changes were made but I think it was done sometime in the 19th Century Does anyone out there know ?
