I don't think you've ever read Mike's rants against the Northern bigots on both sides Nathan.

Irish people abroad have never had a vote here as far as I know.

And somehow I don't think I'd be in favour of a few million people who left Ireland in the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s (and perhaps even descendants of those who left in the 1850s, 1860s, etc., who can legitimately tog out for Ireland today) voting for lets say a Sinn Fein Government to run our dear little green island for us who remain, simply because of some sentimental view of what it is to be Irish - e.g. to assist us in solving what is perceived to be the oppression of the British Occupiers by organisations such as the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh (yes there really is such an organisation) or the more sinister NORAID :)

I think you have to think this one out a little more clearly.
