So it seems like a big leap of logic to blame the unions because someone is horrified at bad treatment of what is usually the parents and family of an Irish-born person. In fact the main union intervention over the past few days was to help the woman who was reputedly working for a euro an hour. The union objected just as strongly as you would if someone came in to work at a less than legal terms. Thus you can argue that the Unions are on your side fighting against the payment of below-minimum wages? Besides that we theoretically have full employment and need at least 30 to 40,000 imported workers just to keep the economy going.
