Not quite. Lay-people can get married and there is also a serious decline in those wanting to get involved in the church. The issue is one of people in general becoming less religious, a good thing in my view. The Catholic church is not a political party, it is not a democracy. Their role is to show people the benefit of adopting their creed, not to change their creed to suit. If the Church's stance on what they believe to be right results in less flock, then so-be-it. The object is not to have the most people in your church, the object is to give the message and do your best to convinve people to follow. There can be no comprimise, if its right, it's right.
