And while we're at waste - what about the money from all the aluminium cans that are left around and not picked up by the council? Are the junketing councillors being paid by the waste merchants to bribe the council staff not to pick them up so that the waste merchants can earn even more money by recycling the valuable aluminium - which is just left lying around outside fast food joints for anyone to pick up? A helluva a lot more than 30 euro's worth on any street in town in any year you care to mention. Crooks the lot of em! And what about the 100,000 worth of shop letters stolen each year in Castlebar according to the local papers? Those junketing councillors again? Deliberately installing fuzzy CCDs in the TV cameras so that the letterbugs can't be identified on CrimeLine? Or maybe they are playing scrabble with the manufacturers of plastic letters? Each letter is worth at least as much as the cost of the electricity being burned by those TWO BULBS on the Christmas Lights left to light the way for the Virgin Mary, Joseph and their donkey all year round - what a nice thought and how ignorant of the PUBLIC to even question.
