Came across this photo - one of many signs posted between Ballina and Crossmolina around Lough Conn by the very slurry spreaders you are talking about.

You can forecast the weather by the sound of slurry tankers rattling along the roads up there - if it's going to rain enough to wash the stuff away the tankers are out shpreading. That area has more cows there than there are people in Ballina! And that's a lot of shlurry.
