Emigrants returning still spend money in the area - we don't just parachute in and spend zero.

Knock airport makes a contribution to the economy of the West of Ireland - also it enables greater mobility between Dublin and west etc.

It also competes on price - and looking at papers today it is cheaper holidaying in the west than in Dublin.

It receives very little funding from the govt. so as a stand alone business
