I was just pointing out that a beautiful area like that should be teeming with wildlife and I was puzzled as to the reason there was so little. I couldn't see that question bothering him so I assumed it was the UK thing.

You are right about how friendly the people in Mayo are and in Ireland as a whole. And such a beautiful country too

I re-visited the lough 3 times and was struck how little birdlife especially actually on the lake there was.

A big thank you to The Welcome Inn, Stax bar, Irish House, Humbert Inn, and the other hostelries for imbibimg me with the black magic.

And if anyone saw an 8 year lad trying to play Gaelic on the pitch at McHale Park in an England football top!! - that was my boy!
