A warning about using weedkillers in water - a sure way to kill every remaining fish and insect in the lake. If the chemical itself does not wiped them out - and stuff like roundup is pretty lethal to aquatic life - the decaying dead plants will. Remember that the rotting weed-killed plants will cause such a massive drop in oxygen levels in the lake water that any remaining fish and insects will smother.
