Is contempt of court such a bad thing really? I mean if you really believe in your heart that the law of the land is an ass? If you crossed your finger like Dev when the judge told you to behave and you went and drove down the dual carriageway the wrong way anyway? Or threatened someone with violence when they stepped onto your/their cpo land? I mean if the law means taking your land and paying you top dollar for it whether you like it or not? Surely it's an ass.
When you think about it a court injunction telling you not to do something is really only a piece of paper now isn't it? Why should anyone obey a piece of paper?
Look - the M50 is finally going to open tomorrow - I am so excited I can hardly believe it. And that all those injunctions are just water under the bridge. Look at Wood Quay (and I'm not talkin' about Galway's) isn't the bunker really Bee U Tea Full? Almost as beautiful as the new boardwalks on Bacelors Walk eh? But there were so many people objecting to digging up some old bones and arrow heads. Injunctions left right and centre - just about the time that Ray Burke signed the deal to give free access to gas off the west coast.
