It was very frightening to return to London on Monday, and I was hoping my customers would cancel and I could stay in the relative safety of the Sussex Countryside. I went back, glad I went back and amazed at the fortitude of the British people. As a complete and utter softy I get upset when I hear about any loss of life, anywhere in the world regardless of how it happens. Events in London have rocked to the core of a society. They have brought people together not only in grief, but also in a defiance to withstand the terror, to get on with everyday life. I am sure most reasonable people do show concern over road accidents, deaths in Iraq, the horrific loss of life in the Tsunami. Because no matter who it happens to, or how, we all know how we would feel if someone dear to us died. |
