They ARE the "Irish police"

They ARE police If youve ever been at a major airport or harbour youll see vehicles marked "police"

Gardai (or "Civic Gaurds") is just the name of the police force just like "East Surrey Police" "New York Police Dept" etc

Besides this is the WORLD WIDE web and hardly anyone outside Ireland knows what a "garda" is
